Day Two of the 2026 World Club Championship delivered the showdown everyone had been waiting for.
Snapper Rocks and Kirra went head-to-head in the best conditions of the event, drawing big crowds to the shoreline. Sheldon Simkus opened with an 8.67 for the hosts before Joel Parkinson and Mick Fanning renewed their rivalry in the lineup. Both fell on their first waves before recovering, Parkinson posting a 7.93 and Fanning responding with an 8.60.
Kirra held their nerve. Ricardo Christie’s 8.60 proved decisive as they secured a narrow 33.87 to 32.97 victory over Snapper. Space Coast and Wrightsville were unable to match the pace.
Earlier, elimination heats reshaped the draw. Omi Wan advanced behind a 7.50 from Amuro Tsuzuki. North Shore Oahu progressed in a tight exchange with Phillip Island. Freshwater responded strongly, Kalan Orchard’s 9.50 anchoring a 30.61 team total to keep their campaign alive.
Reigning champions North Narrabeen were eliminated by New Zealand’s South Bay, while San Clemente posted the highest total of the day, 36.14, to underline their title credentials.
Torquay closed out the afternoon, advancing past ASCC Portugal in a hard-fought final heat.
With rivalries intensifying and momentum shifting, the championship moved into Finals Day, where one club would be crowned the inaugural World Club Champion.
